چکیده

Recent advances in CT technology have made possible the acquisition of high resolution images of the heart in which important anatomical features such as the coronary vessels are visible. The state of the art in MR Imaging techniques, on the other hand, typically provides lower resolution but can facilitate the differentiation of viable (healthy) cardiac tissue from infarcted (injured) tissue. The registration of CT and MR images of the same heart permit the association of anatomy with function. As an example, given an infarcted region, the coronary vessels responsible for irrigating that region may be isolated and targeted for treatment (e.g., coronary bypass).

Multi-frame Super Resolution for Improving Vehicle Licence Plate Recognition

License plate recognition (LPR) by digital image processing, which is widely used in traffic monitor and control, is one of the most important goals in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). In real ITS, the resolution of input images are not very high since technology challenges and cost of high resolution cameras. However, when the license plate image is taken at low resolution, the license...

Registration with Adjacent Anatomical Structures for Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Guidance

The clinical applications and benefits of multi-modal image registration are wide-ranging and well established. Current image based approaches exploit cross-modality information, such as landmarks or anatomical structures, which is visible in both modalities. A lack of cross-modality information can prohibit accurate automatic registration. This paper proposes a novel approach for MR to X-ray i...

Optimized co-registration method of Spinal cord MR Neuroimaging data analysis and application for generating multi-parameter maps

Introduction: The purpose of multimodal and co-registration In MR Neuroimaging is to fuse two or more sets images (T1, T2, fMRI, DTI, pMRI, …) for combining the different information into a composite correlated data set in order to visualization, re-alignment and generating transform to functional Matrix. Multimodal registration and motion correction in spinal cord MR Neuroimag...

Comparative Evaluation of Two Registration-based Segmentation Algorithms: Application to Whole Heart Segmentation in CT

Statistical shape models learn valid variability from example shapes, making large training sets favorable. Methods for automatic training set generation use transforms obtained by registration to propagate atlas landmarks to new samples. Algorithms based on B-spline transforms and mutual information (MI) were successfully employed for the cardiac anatomy in CT and MRI. For single-modality data...

A Novel Subsampling Method for 3D Multimodality Medical Image Registration Based on Mutual Information

Mutual information (MI) is a widely used similarity metric for multimodality image registration. However, it involves an extremely high computational time especially when it is applied to volume images. Moreover, its robustness is affected by existence of local maxima. The multi-resolution pyramid approaches have been proposed to speed up the registration process and increase the accuracy of th...
